METZ Cheesemonger is an independent cheese shop in the Sandsgate building at Sunny Bank Mills, the former worsted mill on Town Street, Farsley, with a shopfront visible from the road. It was opened in November 2024 by Emmanuelle Metz, who is from Paris and had spent more than a decade selling cheese in Yorkshire and France; Aurelie Charles is her fellow director. The counter is stocked with handmade artisan cheese rather than mass-produced, with several varieties matured in-house — among them a stout-washed rind brie, which took the People's Choice award at the Academy of Cheese Affineur of the Year. It reports also winning Best Display Champion and gold awards for cheeseboard and grazing board at the Great Yorkshire Show, and it runs cheese nights with neighbouring Amity Brew Co.

Palmer Plants is a plant nursery on Calverley Lane, Farsley, growing and selling trees, shrubs and other plants to the public and to trade customers. It began in 1982 as Palmer Nurseries, supplying Palmer Landscapes and other trade buyers; John and Margaret Palmer later bought land and put up the glasshouses, tunnels and potting shed still in use, and the site opened to the public as Palmer Plants in 1995. The company was incorporated in October 2020 and its directors are Samantha Hall and Margaret Palmer. It says it was set up on the belief that it would not follow other garden centres, keeping the focus on plants, and it runs the Little Leaf Cafe on site. In 2021 it won planning permission for a two-storey building with retail space, a café, a children's play area and a 66-space car park.

Pudsey Computers is a computer shop at 7 Bradford Road, Stanningley, selling laptops, desktops and gaming PCs and carrying out repairs and upgrades. Work includes fitting graphics cards, full PC upgrades, and laptop and desktop repair, cleaning and cable management. It sells online as well as over the counter. It trades as Pudsey Computers Ltd, incorporated on 16 March 2026 and registered at the same Bradford Road address, with Steven Craig Lightfoot as its sole director and only person with significant control. The shop opens Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 9.30am to 2.30pm, and is closed on Sundays.

Truman Books is an independent bookshop and café at 95 Town Street, Farsley, opened in spring 2021 by Amanda Truman, who left a twenty-year career in the travel industry to start it. The company was incorporated in September 2020 and she is its sole director. It stocks new releases, older titles and children's books alongside gifts, cards and wrapping paper, orders in books for next-day collection, and serves coffee and homemade cake. Beyond the shelves it runs a storytime session, a book club and a Young Readers' Review Panel. In 2026 the Booksellers Association named it one of twenty Bookshop Champions for Independent Bookshop Week, which that year marked twenty years of the campaign.
