For business owners

Your page may already exist. Claiming it is free — and always will be.

We write pages about independent businesses from public records. If we've written one about yours, you can take control of it, correct anything wrong, and keep it that way.

Start here

Claim your page

If we posted you a card, it carries a claim code and a QR that holds the same thing — enter either and we'll find your page. If all you had was a letter, or the card never turned up, say so on the same page and someone will confirm you run the business another way.

Already claimed yours? Sign in — no password, we email you a link.

No page about you yet?

We haven’t written about you yet?

If there’s no ByLocals page about your business, you can put it forward. We write about independent businesses from public records — this puts yours in line to be looked at. It changes nothing about how we decide: no place held, no moving ahead of anyone, no date. What we get to next is decided by area, not by who asked.

Some kinds of business — anything that turns on a competence, safety or insurance check — we’re not covering yet, and we’ll say so plainly rather than take details for a page we won’t put up.

Three steps, about five minutes

  1. Find your page, or enter your code

If we posted you a code, it goes here. If not, we'll walk you through a secure recovery route instead.

  2. “Did we get it right?”

You read what we've written and correct anything wrong. Each correction becomes a sourced proposal that goes through the same review as everything else.

  3. Your identity status, and a dashboard

Once a reviewer confirms who you are, your page says so — and you get a dashboard showing what your listing actually did.

What you'll actually see

A real receipt, not a guess. This is the kind of line a claimed listing shows you. It counts events, not people — and it only appears once there are enough of them that nobody could be identified.

“Your location appeared in 9 ByLocals answers. Its phone, website or directions were tapped 4 times.”

Those are measured events, not people: one person can account for more than one. They do not mean nine customers or four sales, and we will never present them that way.

The questions owners actually ask

Is it really free?
Yes, forever. The listing, the claim, the identity check, the independence assessment, your edits, corrections, the digital badge, your links and your ordinary performance receipts are all free and always will be.
What's never for sale?
Your position in a list. The independence badge. Vouches. How quickly we fix a mistake about you. Whether an answer mentions you. None of it has a price, and none of it ever will.
Can I be listed faster if I pay?
No. Payment never changes the queue or the service targets. There is no priority lane, because we didn't build one.
How will you contact me?
About your account, your enquiries, service changes that affect you, and anything legal — those we have to send. Anything else needs you to tick a box first, and one click stops it.
What if I want the page gone?
Ask, and we'll remove it within 28 days — everywhere, including search, answers and caches. You don't have to claim it first, and you don't have to explain yourself.

Ready when you are.

No account needed to correct a mistake. Nothing to pay, at any step.

Claiming starts with the code we posted you — or a secure recovery if you don't have it. You can also correct or remove anything right now, free, without an account.
