A family butcher's shop on Gill Lane in Yeadon, run across three generations of the Meays family. The shop says Brian Meays has 63 years in the butchery trade and started there at the age of 13, that his son Stuart joined straight from school and has been there 37 years, and that between them the two have clocked up a hundred years in the business. All four of Stuart's sons work in the shop. The counter runs to beef, pork, gammon, turkey, tongue and boiled ham, along with pork pies. The shop states its core values as selling top-quality local produce and providing superior customer service, and it supplies local sports clubs and community events. J B Meays & Son Limited was incorporated in March 2014; John Stuart Meays and Beverley Gail Meays are its controlling shareholders.

A soft play and role play centre for children in Yeadon, at Unit 4 on Cliffe Court off the High Street. It is aimed at children from birth to around eight, and alongside the soft play frame it runs a role play village with a vets, a café and a police station, and keeps more than 50 fancy dress costumes. A mini disco and party games run on weekday mornings at 10.30 and are included with entry, and the centre also hosts parties and weekday classes and courses. Its own café serves a breakfast and lunch menu and homemade cakes, and the centre states a 5-star food hygiene certificate and a recently installed air circulation system. The company behind it, Kids About Tarn Ltd, was incorporated in November 2016 as Pudsey Playmill Limited and is directed by Charlotte Gray.

A fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Yeadon, opened in summer 1994 and run by the Chadwick family: brothers Andrew and James Chadwick are managing directors, with their daughters involved in day-to-day management. It takes its name from Billy Murgatroyd, the nineteenth-century mill owner whose Moorfield Mills stood on the site. It operates as both a sit-down restaurant and a takeaway counter, the takeaway keeping longer hours. The business says its fish comes from renewable Icelandic waters and is delivered fresh to the kitchen, and puts its throughput at around 1,275 fish a day and 363 tonnes of potatoes a year. Some of its staff have worked there since opening. The Yorkshire Evening Post, in a guide to eating in LS19, called it "the undisputed, world-renowned titan of the area's culinary scene".
