About
An independent cheesemonger on Harrogate Road, opened by Stephen Fleming — who left a 20-year career in corporate IT to sell cheese, and named the shop after the middle names of his two eldest sons. The counter runs to more than 150 handmade farmhouse cheeses, chosen on a simple rule: everything is handmade and liked by every member of the team, with a strong bias towards Yorkshire and British makers.
Beyond the counter it runs tastings — from a handful of people to corporate groups of 200 — and a cheese school, with Fleming a certified Academy of Cheese trainer. Its work has been recognised with Best Speciality Cheese Retailer at the 2018 Great British Cheese Awards and Best Retailer (North East) at the 2023 Farm Shop & Deli Awards.
