What counts as a vouch
A vouch is one verified person saying they've actually been. Once per business per year. No score, no stars, and paying us changes nothing about how any of it is treated.
How to vouch
You vouch on a business's own page, not on this one. Every place we cover has its own vouch page, and the QR code on the card at that counter opens it. This page is the explainer; that page is where a vouch is actually made and counted.
There it verifies your email — lightweight anti-abuse evidence only — then asks you to confirm the five statements below, and records a single vouch. Scanning the code grants no weight on its own: the once-per-business-per-year check runs on our servers, so a different device or browser makes no difference.
A vouch is always tied to one business, so it is made on that business's page rather than here. Find the place in the directory to reach it.
Before you vouch
All five are one visible bundle. None of them is inferred from the fact that you verified an email address.
- I am 16 or over.
- I had a genuine recent first-hand experience.
- I have no disqualifying owner, staff, promotional, household or commercial connection.
- I received or was promised no incentive.
- This contribution is honest and lawful.
What verifying an email proves
This is lightweight anti-abuse evidence only. It does not prove you live here or that you've been, and it creates no vouch weight on its own.
Once per business per year
And that includes its other locations — a second site under the same organisation is the same business. No second record and no extra weight is created. The check runs on our servers, so a different device or browser makes no difference.
Every state carries its weight

Overturning a rejected vouch returns it to pending, weight 0, and re-runs verification, attestation, uniqueness and integrity checks. It never activates directly, and the original decision stays in force while an appeal is reviewed.

An optional ten-word tip is reviewed before it appears on the page. A rejection gives a safe reason and an appeal route. Withdrawing your tip removes it from the page without touching your vouch — they are separate records.
A tip, a vouch or an answer that shouldn't be published is a content report. A wrong fact on a listing is a correction.
