Hana Matsuri is a Japanese restaurant at 580 Meanwood Road, Meanwood, owned by chef Kaoru Nakamura. It is very small: reviewers count six counter seats at the front and a couple more in a back room, with diners watching each dish being made in front of them. It began as a closed-blinds omakase room with a £150 set menu, and now runs as an izakaya, with onigiri rice balls alongside nigiri sushi, hosomaki and special rolls, soft-shell crab, chicken karaage, pumpkin croquettes and grilled yellowtail jaw. The Yorkshire Post has reported that the cooking has passed to a chef from Hong Kong with twenty years in the trade.

The Scott Hall Road shop is one of several Ichi Sushi branches in the wider area, alongside sites in Rawdon, Hunslet and Harrogate. It trades mainly as an evening takeaway and delivery service, and is also listed on Uber Eats.

Set over two floors with a sushi bar downstairs, it serves dishes such as sushi, ramen, yakitori skewers and katsu, alongside Japanese beers, whiskies, sake and cocktails. It has been described as Headingley's first Japanese restaurant.

Umee Sushi is an independent Japanese restaurant on Harrogate Road in the Chapel Allerton area of Leeds, opened in 2024 by Furun Zhen in a converted former pharmacy. The 36-seat restaurant serves sushi and other Japanese dishes, with reported menu items including bluefin tuna sushi and wagyu burgers, and has a bar alongside the kitchen. Its name is said to mean 'delicious sushi' in Japanese.
